In this month’s video blog, we take a closer look at the Rizer-Line freeze protection system for livestock watering bowls and address a common question about its length and adjustability. Designed for horse, cattle, and other livestock watering bowls, the Rizer-Line is a continuous system designed to provide both on-pipe and in-pipe freeze protection in one solution. It comes in a standard 12-foot length, with 2 feet of heating cable designed to install on the outside of a pipe and 10 feet designed to be fed inside of a pipe. The 2-foot external self-regulating heating cable protects valves and small-diameter pipes beneath watering bowls, while the 10-foot section past the male threaded adaptor ensures a watertight connection and provides internal freeze protection for the water supply pipe.
Many customers ask whether the lengths of on-pipe and in-pipe heating cables can be adjusted. While the overall length cannot be shortened or extended, the proportion of in-pipe versus on-pipe can be adjusted. This video guides you through the steps to adjust the fitting placement, ensuring the heating cable is positioned exactly as required.
